A tragic accident at Taichung International Airport’s Ching-Chuan-Kang Air Base on Jan. 21 claimed the life of Air Force Sgt. Hu. An aircraft engine ingested him during a pre-shutdown inspection. Despite immediate medical attention, Hu succumbed to his injuries. The incident involved an AIDC F-CK-1 Ching-kuo fighter jet. This marks the second such fatality at the base since the early 1990s.
